The 2018 World Cup winner has been without a team since mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with Juventus last year. Pogba’s career took a significant hit in February 2024 when he was handed a four-year doping ban. However, after appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), his suspension was reduced to 18 months.

With his ban nearing its end, Pogba was cleared to return to training in January and will be eligible to compete in professional matches again in March. This has sparked speculation about his next move, with hints of a possible Manchester United comeback emerging through a cryptic social media post last month, where he was seen wearing a Red Devils kit in cartoon form alongside Ivorian winger Amad Diallo.
WHAT FERDINAND SAID
Among those backing Pogba to make a return to Manchester is Ferdinand, who insists that United should at least offer the midfielder an opportunity to train with the squad.
During the latest episode of on YouTube, the former United defender said: "You’d like to think he would [be going somewhere]. Surely he’s got to go somewhere. Pogba at United? I’d go come in and train with us and let’s see what you’ve got. I’d do that. I would’ve done that already. I’d say come in and get fit and let’s have a little look."

Pogba returned to Old Trafford for a second spell from Juventus in 2016, and his comeback was famously announced in a video featuring British rapper Stormzy, who was seen wearing a United jersey with Pogba’s name on the back. Ferdinand humorously suggested that Stormzy could be preparing another verse for a new Pogba unveiling video in case a return materialises.
