Dortmund dismissed Sahin on Wednesday after just over six months in the role. Ex-United manager Ten Hag was linked with the German giants but has now poured cold water on such rumours.

Ten Hag has been looking for work ever since getting relieved of his duties at United last October. The ex-Ajax boss has a close relationship Dortmund's chief advisor, Matthias Sammer, which may have been behind his recent visits to the club. Now the hunt for a new Dortmund boss really begins.
